Stoicism Resources
Why is this here?
In 2019, I became deeply interested in Stoicism and it occupied a significant portion of my life for about a year and a half. Exploring Stoicism helped me break free from unhealthy patterns and beliefs that I had grown up with. It made me aware of toxic environments and thought processes that I had considered normal for a long time. I've always been eager to share valuable resources with others because I believe everyone should have the ability to think independently. However, I don't believe in forcing information on anyone, as I had experienced in my own life. I read all the recommended books on Stoicism, but eventually stopped reading some because they no longer aligned with my personal journey. Stoicism allowed me to contemplate my existence beyond the narrow scope of religion. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Otherwise, below is a list of resources and books that helped me in my Stoic exploration.
Definition:
sto·i·cism /ˈstōəˌsizəm/
noun
the endurance of pain or hardship without the display of feelings and without complaint.
an ancient Greek school of philosophy founded at Athens by Zeno of Citium. The school taught that virtue, the highest good, is based on knowledge; the wise live in harmony with the divine Reason (also identified with Fate and Providence) that governs nature, and are indifferent to the vicissitudes of fortune and to pleasure and pain.
