Week Twenty-Nine & Week Thirty
These weeks were combined because of my weird driving days the last few weeks which got thrown off because of Memorial Day and because I managed to end up sick again. Bleh Allergies are the worst! I am hoping to be on the other side of those soon. The last week or so I have traveled from Minnesota to Indiana where I spent a week and a half before heading on to New York!
There are some of those friends you have in life that you consider more family than just friends! The Saner's are definitely those types of friends. Michael Saner was a brother to me and Paul when we moved back to North Carolina 10 years ago during Dad's first round of Chemo. Even though Charlotte is a big city it can be hard to find good friends that are in the same season of life as you when you just graduated from Bible School and you don't really go out drinking on the weekends. Michael was there as a friend to give us a break from the crazy work schedule and the cancer battle. Not long before I left NC Michael packed up his car and took my crazy brother on a road trip to Dallas to go to Christ for the Nations. Which took Michael from a North Carolina friend to another part of my life! Michael ended up at Church on the Hill and connecting with a huge part of my life in a different way! While at CFNI he met and married a lovely young lady from Indiana and she is fantastic! I love that Olivia reads a ton and is snarky and sarcastic like Mike! To say that they were always going to be a part of this trip would be understating it a little in my mind. I wouldn't have left Texas is I didn't think that I was going to be able to stop and see the Saners! Indiana is cool but it is like a million times cooler because the Saner's and Rae Bates also live there! I am so thankful for my visit and the next stop I made after visiting was only possible because of them! I was going to wait until later this summer to try and maybe visit Niagara Falls! But on Thursday Last week Michael and Olivia told me they would pay for me to be able to get an AirBnB near Niagara so that I could visit on my way to where I was traveling and to break up my almost 11 or 12 hour traveling day! It was a fantastic visit I stayed in a small room in St Catherines, ON Canada! So this is officially an international trip! The Canadians are incredibly nice and didn't force me to go through customs which surprised me because my car is so full! I was totally prepared to end up waiting for a full inspection and the whole crazy wait but the lady asked me like a million questions but I was glad to answer any questions as opposed to unpacking and repacking my car! Niagara was amazing So lovely but also a little pricey be prepared to pay for Parking as well as tickets and other stuff while you are there! If you aren't doing Maid of the Mist definitely park on the Canadian side they have the best view if you are not taking the boat in. But if you are doing the boat then go to the NY side. Both sides charge around $20-$25 for day parking. I managed to find a meter and parked for $6 for two hours! I had an amazing time! I am so glad for this amazing experience!
So below the first pictures are from my visit in Indiana the ladder half are from my trip to Niagara on the Maid of the Mist! It was amazing!
