The Foundation of My Faith
“A man with a story is never at the mercy of a man with an argument!” - Pastor Adam McCain*
That is a quote from my days in Bible school days! It is a principle I live my life by to this day. It is part of a reason I will hear you out when it comes to your religious belief system but you can argue with me all day about how you are right but it won’t make a difference because I have something at the core of my faith that is solidly founded my faith to the point that no matter what crap life throws at me or how long you argue with me I will hear you out but will not abandon my faith. That thing that solidifies me to my faith is my story. It is my story and is a story that is constant and ever growing. It started when I was young and continues to grow and progress as I grow older. I could start to tell you this story but it will have changed at least a little more by the time I finished telling it. It is really a books worth of information. Every time I have sat down to tell my story to someone else it changes ever so slightly because anytime I am telling my story I am listening to the Lord and He guides my words so that the story is told to each person in the most impacting way. My story never changes I do not embellish it but God knows what each persons story and how my story can help them understand why my story is so incredibly important to me. If you would like to hear my story completely I would be glad to sit down to coffee or dinner with you and share my story with you! I will let you know right now it won’t be a short story. I have had a lot of experiences and my faith is impacted and formed in everyone.
*Quick side note: I am not 100% positive that Pastor Adam was the originator of the quote I wrote above. I associate it with him the most because when I started Bible school in 2005 God put him and his wife into my life as a spiritual parents, They have been a part of my life and story for me for over 13 years and will always be a part of my life! I miss them but am thankful that even though I live a few thousand miles away I know that either one would pickup when I call whether I was calling to say hi or I was calling because of an emergency.
